Customer problem: New build and new operation requiring strategic IT partner

We've got a fantastic new facility providing the ultimate healthcare environment for both our staff and patients. I’ve always believed high morale in an organisation is crucial and by putting our staff and their workplace experience first, we know the patients ultimately benefit from this.

Project Details

Kaweka Hospital looked to GCT after receiving recommendations for them. From conception in 2020 through to stage one opening in 2022 and stage two opening in 2024, Kaweka Hospital required a strategic IT partner to support their new build and new operation. They required solution architecture, installation services, and ongoing managed services to ensure IT infrastructure is operating effectively, securely and is future proofed.

Nick Pullan, Kaweka Health Hospital Manager says, “we needed two aspects from GCT, firstly futuristic technology advice and then we needed the actual install.

As a brand new construction, Kaweka Hospital needed the GCT team and their own hospital team, to work closely together to make sure everything was just right for their staff and patients.

“Being on the construction site for 6-12 months, we got to know all the GCT team and they were really accommodating.

Solution

Providing Solution Architecture, GCT advised on Kaweka Hospital’s technology needs and worked in conjunction with their team to build a business case for their applicable infrastructure needs.

Ongoing, executive-level technology leadership through Virtual Chief Information Officer (CIO) services is provided. Additionally, GCT supplied and installed structured cabling, nurse call, CCTV and Access Control in the hospital building and provides ongoing monthly managed services.

“As our virtual CIO, GCT is the technical bridge between our staff and our third party software vendors, helping to shape the technology that runs our hospital.

They provide us with a number of services which is great because it comes under one umbrella. Having several companies involved can be difficult to coordinate, so we are pleased to have an IT partner providing a variety of services.

It can efficiently handle increased workloads, user numbers, and data volumes whilst maintaining optimal performance.
